ABSTRACT
In short , a wave of pseudoscience or, more often, simply mysticism and antiscientific hogwash has struck our mass media. It is usually said that such phenomena are typical of hard times. To this, in Russia, should be added the misinterpretation of the meaning of freedom of the press and 'glasnost' which has opened the door to a fecund deluge of antiscientific speculations and disinformation.
