ABSTRACT
A significant verification of GR [up to terms of the order of (v/c) 5] is the study of the binary pulsar PSR 1916 + 16. This has shown that the energy lost by two moving neutron stars in a binary system is in perfect agreement with GR provided allowance is made for the gravitational radiation (whose intensity was calculated by Einstein in 1918) . This work won the Nobel Prize in physics in 1993 [72].
