ABSTRACT

Steady vortex rings (without swirl) which propagate through an ideal fluid occupying the whole space ℝ3 are considered. The flow is axisymmetric. In the meridional half-plane (θ = const, r > 0) Π = {x = (r, z) | r > 0 ; z ∈ ℝ }, where (r, θ, z) denotes the system of cylindrical coordinates, the problem is formulated as follows (see [4]):
