ABSTRACT
Peptide hormones and hormone-like substances have been identified in the milk of many species. In this chapter three aspects will be discussed, namely, (1) the presence of peptide hormones in milk of various species, (2) factors influencing their presence and concentration in milk, and (3) absorption of these compounds from the gastrointestinal tract of immature mammals.
