ABSTRACT

The allelopathic effect of A. adsurgens root culture on wheat, lettuce, millet, alfalfa and A. adsurgens are discussed in this Chapter. The results showed that A. adsurgens root culture filtrates strongly inhibited radicle elongation of the test species. The preliminary isolation of the inhibitors from the culture filtrates indicated that there are at least two groups of the chemical function. The results also indicated that A. adsurgens has autotoxicity.
