ABSTRACT
Energy has a very important role in people’s lives because it is an important parameter for development and economic growth. In cities of Indonesia, energy is becoming a very important issue, given the high levels of energy consumption and use of fossil fuels, and the impact on the environment of using fossilfuel–based energy, such as pollution. The concept of green energy is expected to be a solution to these problems, as is the creation of green environments and sustainability in energy use. The green energy concept is considered able to handle issues faced by cities around energy and the environment. This research uses an exploratory qualitative method. This research found 6 variables and 20 indicators to measure green energy. Further research is recommended to measure the green energy index using the found variables and indicators.
