ABSTRACT

Bali is the most well-known destination in Indonesia, either for local or international tourists. Bali’s attraction comes from the combination of its beautiful natural enevironment and the very authentic traditional culture implemented in every aspect of the life of the society up to the present time. These conditions make tourism the most dominant sector in Bali that triggers other sectors found, including fashion. The influence of the tourism sector on fashion arises to meet the need of keeping up with the ever-changing lifestyle in Bali into something more cosmopolitan, brought by tourists and migrants from different places in the world. This study uses sociological research methods to explore some comprehensive data through a literature study of different related literature sources, direct field observation to various Bali fashion centers, as well as in-depth interviews of different respondents in Bali.
