ABSTRACT

Multimedia technology has changed the way people learn and obtain information. Cognitive theory about multimedia learning states that the information processing system in humans consists of two channels, visual/pictorial processing channels and auditory/verbal processing channels. Both channels have limited capacity for processing. Therefore multimedia applications for learning purposes must adapt to the way humans learn. This study aims to analyze how the application of the principles of cognitive multimedia learning in mobile apps Interactive Story Kisah Lutung Kasarung. This research is a qualitative research, data collection is carried out using literature study and documentation methods. Data analysis was performed using a visual analysis method through the stages of description, analysis, interpretation, and judgment. The results showed that the cognitive theory of multimedia learning has been well applied to the mobile apps Interactive Story Kisah Lutung Kasarung, so that these mobile apps deserve to be used as learning media about Sundanese cultural values.
