ABSTRACT
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), were created to fight poverty and protect the environment; however, some low-income countries have had some difficulties meetings the different goals, since the amount of financial resources and effort that needs to be invested exceeds what these countries can tackle. This chapter focuses on SDG 6 (clean water and sanitation) in the Central American countries and explores the option of creating a synergy between the mining companies and the communities/governments to address the challenges of SDG 6 and have a tremendous positive impact on the lives of many people.
