ABSTRACT

This chapter introduces advancement in a system similar to Telecare Medical Information Systems (TMIS). The security in TMIS is important because it involves dealing with user’s critical data and, thus, appropriate technological advancements should be considered so as to avoid any data breach. S. H. Islam and M. K. Khan developed a two-factor improved authentication scheme for TMIS which aimed to bring an improvement for Xu et al. Some of the work included the use of two or three-factors for authentication, like password, smart-cards and also biometrics. The chapter explains about the proposed protocol, and deals with the informal security analysis. Recovery Phase is the special phase which offers flexibility regarding the password change, biometric update and forgot password phase handling. The chapter verifies the given protocol by means of Body Area Network logic which is a system based out of belief with logic. It examines the performance comparison of the algorithm.
