ABSTRACT
Chemotherapy is one of the mainstay of systemic therapy of breast cancer. It is essential part of treatment of early, locally advanced as well as metastatic breast cancer. With the invention of chemotherapy, the prognosis and survival of breast cancer in all stages have improved. Since 1970s, different chemotherapeutic drugs and their combinations are used in the treatment of breast cancer. Newer drugs are coming up with better efficacy and lesser toxicities. Thus with increasing survival , quality of life is also improving. In this chapter, There is a short description of role of chemotherapy in breast cancer, its indications and toxicities.
