ABSTRACT
In this digital era, mobile technologies are closely related to our daily lives and have become facilitators in various aspects, including business management, social communication, and individual task completion. Nevertheless, the latest trends of mobile technologies have also brought in challenges and concerns in terms of security issues.
This chapter firstly discusses about how mobile technologies help to excel business processes and operations, integrate multiple operations, and into business systems, such as enterprise resource planning, customer relationship management, supply-chain management. Furthermore, how information sharing and social interaction are performed through mobile technologies, such as Facebook, Twitter, and WeChat, and their impacts on e-commerce, education, and other social aspects are discussed. Last, this section focuses on how the adoption of these technologies raises concerns about information security and individual privacy issues, and some safeguard measures proposed to solve this challenge. By covering these topics, this chapter aims to provide an overview of the mobile technology applications and the associated challenges and opportunities.
