ABSTRACT

This paper discusses how to monitor production activities in the workshop where most of its production activities are carried out manually. The product is made through five stages of the manufacturing process on five workstations. Currently, all production activities are done almost without planning so that production targets are difficult to evaluate. Therefore, a production management system is needed to enable an easy evaluation of the production target. The first step is to monitor all production activities that occur inside the workstation. Each workstation is added with a monitoring device that will record the time of login/logout of materials, operators, and tools to/from workstations. In addition, the monitoring device also records the real start and finish operation time. This monitoring system, material stock, operator working hours, tool time usages, production targets, material needs, and several other issues related to production activities can be easily handled in a timely manner.
