ABSTRACT

Industry 4.0 is the amalgamation of many terms and concepts which were introduced in the last decade including factory of future, smart manufacturing, intelligent manufacturing, and collaborative manufacturing to name a few. Industry 4.0 is a stupendous concept and owing to its numerous benefits, it is considered to be a pioneering idea for the future. However, still most of the research work conducted in this field discusses about theoretical models. Therefore, there is a need for the real implementation of this trailblazing concept. Hence, in this research work a framework is developed and presented based on the case study that deals with implementation of Industry 4.0 at King Saud University. In conclusions, the paper highlights the challenges, issues and need for future work required.
