3D printing artefacts made of the ashes after the fire of the National Museum in Brazil

The National Museum, an Institution part of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil’s oldest and most important historical and scientific museum was destroyed by fire on September 2018. 3D CAT scan files were used to generate 3D printed models by adding ashes from wooden coal obtained from the leftover burned remnants. Results has an emotional connection with the Museum history by combining the geometry of the lost artifact with the ashes of the museum itself.
