ABSTRACT

This study aimed to determine the effect of supply chain management practices and total quality management on competitive strategies and organizational performance in Black Pepper Gapoktan (a farmers’ association) in North Lampung Regency. The research method used was an explanatory survey. The sample of this study comprised eighty Gapoktan farmers in North Lampung Regency. Data were collected by questionnaires and interviews with the Gapoktan chairman, while data were processed by partial least square (PLS) utilizing smart PLS software. Based on statistical tests and hypotheses, the results showed that (1) supply chain management practices have a significant influence on competitive strategies with a path coefficient of 0.283, and total quality management has a significant effect on competitive strategies with a path coefficient of 0.713; (2) competitive strategy has a significant influence on organizational performance with a path coefficient of 0.762; (3) supply chain management practices have a significant influence on organizational performance with a path coefficient of 0.536, and total quality management has a significant effect on organizational performance with a path coefficient of 0.295; (4) supply chain management practices and total quality management have a significant influence on organizational performance through competitive strategies with path coefficients of 0.216 and 0.544.
