ABSTRACT

The framework is based on several case studies which describe different ways to establish and support creative environments, both within private and public companies and in city areas. There are four different aspects in facilitating creative environments: ‘facilities’, ‘facilitation’, ‘use’ and ‘culture’. The discussion regarding creativity during the last decades has had a huge influence on the development of cities, private and public companies and society at large. The tool can be used by space managers, staff involved in development and consultants who have been given the task of developing and supporting creative environments either in a city or a company context. The tool provides a systematic which practitioners can use as a starting point for reflections and discussions of the development of creative environments in both city areas and companies. The tool can be used in combination with the other tools presented for the process of space planning.
