ABSTRACT

The model shows how practitioners can involve users and utilise evaluations in connection to briefing and design during the whole building project. Practitioners can use the model as a basis for dialogue with the organisation when they are planning user involvement in building projects. Many projects only involve users in the early phases, but this model is based on a continuous involvement of users, systematic use of evaluations and continuous briefing. The model can be used by project managers of building projects as a planning and management tool to help in organising the building project and is typically used as a basis for dialogue with other stakeholders in the beginning of the planning. The model provides practitioners with both an overview over the process and an indication of when the user involvement should be most intensive, but it also gives them concrete suggestions for tools that can be applied and who should be involved at which stage.
