ABSTRACT

The estimating method is an analysis and decision support tool which combines and quantifies climate resilience and sustainability. The method provides a basis for decisions about choosing relevant measures to prevent climate impacts and their consequences for buildings. The method is aimed at practitioners if they have been given the task of preparing a basis for decision and proposals for environmental- and climate-related measures. This method provides a basis for the evaluation of the measures which practitioners implement to secure their building against future climatic impacts, such as flooding and increasing temperatures. The method consists of seven steps, which include evaluation and calculation of risks in relation to climate impact, sustainability and resilience. Determine the resilience of the building to the disturbance – for example, at what temperature the building’s function will be compromised.
