ABSTRACT

This paper proposes an indoor positioning method in combination with Bluetooth positioning and Pedestrian Dead Reckoning (PDR), using the full dynamic threshold generation method. It is our intention to improve PDR indoor positioning technology, by providing the user with a smooth indoor ground and a steady pace of movement. By applying PDR experimentally with a mobile phone in a stable environment, we have verified that the threshold generation method proposed in this paper is closer to the actual number of pedestrian steps. With the beacon device placed in the critical position to assist the PDR indoor positioning system, we have achieved a flexible and versatile positioning algorithm.
