ABSTRACT

In recent years, graphene oxide is considered to be a magic material, thanks to its promising properties. Graphene oxide is used in many applications, and among them is decontamination technology as adsorbent material. Moreover, graphene oxide is thought to be one of the most widely-known and promising additive materials in membrane technology, for separation applications in the organic – inorganic nanohybrids. This chapter is a summary of some very recent contributions and results of this research field. The characterization of the graphene oxide nanohybrid materials is analyzed in detail, emphazing the applications of advanced treatment of wastewater. Numerous examples of this use are given, and results of characterization techniques such as AFM, XRD, FTIR, and SEM are presented and discussed.
