ABSTRACT

Salter's osteotomy is based on the redirection of the acetabulum as a unit by hinging and rotation through the symphysis pubis, which is mobile in children. The use of bone grafts and fixation with K wires is described in detail. A modification of Salter's osteotomy, the Kalamchi osteotomy and the Sutherland double innominate osteotomy are also discussed. Furthermore the Dega osteotomy is described in detail to increase the containment of the femoral head along with the bicortical segment of graft from the iliac crest.
