ABSTRACT
The effectiveness of a developed IPPS model depends on the type of testbed adopted for experimentation. This chapter highlights the types of IPPS benchmark problems used by various researchers to verify the proposed IPPS models. Different sizes of problems such as small scale, medium scale, and large scale have been identified with respect to the number of jobs and machines, as well as the level of manufacturing flexibility involved. This work may help beginners to choose the benchmark problems in order to prove and validate their developed IPPS model. Also, the data of important testbed problems have been provided in tabular form for easy understanding.
