The special requirements for barrier-free use of those areas are occasionally implemented incorrectly. MCA tool, especially Topsis method, is used for optimizing the barrier-free details to meet the Czech standards—decree no. 398/2009 Coll. The article explains the use of the MCA tool for pedestrian—automotive traffic intersections in case of the barrier-free solution. The implementation and solution will be explained by a case study of an area in Ostrava. Chosen area was mapped according to the decree requirements. The aim of the paper is an evaluation of the MCA method as a tool for decision-making processes of municipalities.
