ABSTRACT

The paper presents the investigation of the Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) behavior of damaged and not damaged fiber reinforced polymer FRP test probes with simple geometry. For that purpose, artificial defect/failure generation procedure for the test probes was developed and applied. Afterwards some NVH measurements, e.g. natural frequencies, modal damping and mode shapes were evaluated. The results show on one hand the sensitivity of the measurement method for damages and on the other the change of the NVH characteristics of the probes through damages.
