ABSTRACT

The article deals with theoretical and experimental analysis of the local stability of short axially compressed rectangular thin-walled steel tubes with imperfections. This analysis is one part of the research focusing on local stability of rectangular concrete-filled thin-walled steel tubes. The work presents a theory of elastic critical stress for local buckling of right-angled wall elements and acting under the influence of a uniform compression load. It was also mentioned the preparation and procedure of experimental tests of the researched samples. The data of this research supplement the results of the analysis of local buckling of the axially compressed rectangular steel tubes filled with concrete.
