ABSTRACT

The article is aimed at monitoring the shrinkage of concrete slabs under laboratory conditions. Different types of reinforcement (material and amount of bars) were applied. GFRP reinforcement was used because of its material characteristics (strength and modulus of elasticity), which are significantly different from that of the conventional steel reinforcement. Process of research preparing and principle of measurement are described. Result of shrinkage influence on the strain and deflection of concrete slabs reinforced by steel and GFRP reinforcement are included in this paper.
