ABSTRACT

The obtaining of fuels, their economization, and their effective utilization belong among the most complex problems of the present and the future. Energy saving is one of the most important environmental factors in a developed and implemented Environment Management System (EMS) according to ISO 14001. Our contribution tries to contribute to a suitable selection of machines for building processes to lead to a lowering of their energy consumption. This paper describes the structure of an optimizing machine selection method for construction processes and provides a model example with results concerning the selection of construction elevators for the vertical transport of building materials during finishing processes on site. It also suggests effective uses of this method in practice. This paper presents an optimizing elevator selection method concerning the minimization of energy consumption along with its application to 5 different construction elevators with software support.
