ABSTRACT

The goal of this experimental work was to compare the behavior of the girders reinforced with classical steel and GFRP (Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer) reinforcement. The flexural performance of the girders was verified through the four point load test. Two series of girders with different reinforcement ratio were examined. Together 14 beams with length of 1.5 m were tested. The actual material properties of the concrete and steel and GFRP reinforcement were tested. Both types of the girders were compared within the ultimate and serviceability limit states.
