ABSTRACT

University education at Slovak colleges (public, state and private) and universities is carried out almost for 15 years by the European structure of fields of study. Within them, individual study programs are created and accredited. The authors as members of standing working groups of the Accreditation Commission—an advisory body of the Slovak Government—present a state of accreditation process, their experiences and lessons learned from different areas of research in the face of globalization trends and criteria for international accreditation. They thus formulate a concept of an innovative and institutional ensuring model of the accreditation process compatible with accreditation in economy of Slovakia and with rules and criteria of European accreditation.
