ABSTRACT

This research aimed to develop instructional multimedia for learning traditional music and musical instruments in the form of an encyclopedia as a learning supplement for students. This research and development referred to the development model of Alessi and Trollip including: 1) planning, 2) designing, and 3) developing. The result of the research was a product with file format operated by using a computer with any kinds of operating systems. The materials in this product were divided into three categories based on the alphabet, the Indonesian islands, and the instrument classification. There are 413 materials comprising 86 ensembles, 1 genre, 13 kinds of music, and 313 instruments. This product was considered to be appropriate based on the alpha test and the validation of the media experts with the feasibility percentage of 79,65% and from material experts with the feasibility percentage of 88%. Meanwhile, the beta test gave the percentage of 87,05%.
