ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to foster a sense of nationalism in children by introducing the local song ‘Manuk Dadali’ at school. This is very important because children are more interested in playing games than studying or knowing their Indonesian culture. Studying the song ‘Manuk Dadali’ in Dadali Campeurnik dance can foster a sense of nationalism in children. Besides, by learning the song ‘Manuk Dadali’, students can recognise and understand the art and culture of Indonesia in their own regional characteristics. When teaching and learning activities take place, the role-playing learning model is very helpful for achieving the expected goals. In the learning process, students are directed to learn the song ‘Manuk Dadali’ in Dadali Campeurnik dance, and understand the meaning contained in the lyrics of the song ‘Manuk Dadali’.
