ABSTRACT

The objective of this research is to describe the meaning of particular signs contained in the song lyrics or score of the Koyunbaba (Suite Für Gitarre Op.19) song by Carlo Domeniconi using the semiotic approach of Charles Sanders Peirce. This study is descriptive-qualitative research. The focus of the research looks at particular matters or the uniqueness inserted by the composer, derived by studying the form and structure of the score. The meaning of the song was then identified and analysed by using the typological signs semiotic approach of Charles Sanders Peirce. The data was obtained by observation, interviews, documentation and literature study techniques. The legitimisation of the data was made possible by conducting a validity (peer debriefing) test. The results showed that signs in the Koyunbaba text was a representation of a modern suite with its own particularities.
