ABSTRACT

This article aims to analyse the values embedded in Talempong anam salido Art of Pesisir Selatan District. This ethnographic research analysed data based on a philosophical perspective. The material object of this research was Talempong anam salido, an art from the Pesisir Selatan District, West Sumatra. Meanwhile, the formal object was in the form of axiological study of Talempong anam salido Art. The results show that Talempong anam salido art refers to the identity of the Minangkabau people whose majority embraced Islam. This art also contains educational values such as religiousness, cooperation, tolerance, and responsibility. This article concludes that the Minang is an Islamic society. The values embedded in this art can be applied to both formal and non-formal education.
