ABSTRACT

This chapter reports the synthetic approaches for the preparation of conductive polymeric composites via (concentrated) emulsions. Conductive polymers are an important class of functional materials, but generally have low processability due to their conjugated main-chains. Relative to conductive polymers, conductive polymeric composites can possess improved processability, and therefore, have remarkable applicability. These composites are prepared by either using concentrated emulsion-derived cross-linked porous polymers as the synthetic substrate of conductive polymers, or by the synthesis of conductive polymers in (concentrated) emulsions in the presence of dissolved non-conductive polymers.
