ABSTRACT

A 5-year-old boy with a history of Hirschsprung disease and a previous Duhamel pull-through at the age of 3 months presents for evaluation. He initially did well following his surgery, was continent of stool, and potty trained without difficulty. In the last 12 months he has been having recurrent episodes of abdominal distension and fecal incontinence. These intermittent episodes have been managed with rectal washouts.
