ABSTRACT
A 5-year-old girl is referred to your clinic for rectal prolapse. She had several episodes at home that spontaneously reduced. However, in the last week she was brought to the emergency department for an episode of rectal prolapse that required manual reduction. As per the parents, she has a bowel movement approximately once every 10 days and strains significantly with each episode.
