ABSTRACT

In recent years, computational intelligence methodologies in general and swarm intelligence in particular have become increasingly popular and attracted interest with a dramatic increase in the number of relevant publications. Swarm intelligence (SI) and bio-inspired computing, in general, have successfully adopted in many areas of science and engineering. Therefore, it is appropriate to investigate how such techniques might contribute to enhancing cybersecurity. In this paper, we present an overview of swarm-based intelligence techniques for improving cybersecurity as well as replenish the literature with fresh reviews on swarm-based methods. Furthermore, the latest and future trends in research direction are also discussed, which will offer useful insights for researchers and practitioners.
