ABSTRACT

Pollution-free non-powered canoe/kayak is one of the most important tools to experience the natural ecosystem in the creative lifestyle industry. Through continuous exploration and development, the canoeing sports and leisure industry has transformed from a competitive sport to gradually become a commercialized industry. This thesis analyses the canoeing sport through its three stages of development, first experiencing amateur competitions, then club and association competitions, and finally multi-element development - a gradual morph into an industry. PAI Company is the first enterprise that combined the canoeing sport with eco-tourism to form a standardized product. Thus reviewing the industry’s development history and how the canoeing sport came to combine with an ecological experience to become a standardized product can serve as an important reference to this industry’s subsequent development.
