ABSTRACT

Based on a study and analysis of the conventional inversion methods of potential field, we use a magnetization function to fit magnetization distribution in the crust and develop a new forwardinversion combined method for magnetic strata interfaces and Curie point depth determination calculation. This method overcomes disadvantages of conventional methods, gives out much higher resolution, and it is timesaving as well. We put the method into application in Chinese national “Climb-B” geological research project, which is aimed for large and super-large ore deposits prospecting, valuable inversion results are obtained both for further geological research work and for prospecting nonferrous ore deposits in north Huabei platform, China.
