ABSTRACT

In this paper, random walk model is used to simulate 2D distribution of braided channels with frequent connections and tributaries. 2D gridding data pp(i, j), as a linear combination of three parameters: permeability, porosity, and shale percentage, is used to discriminate the grid node: channel, or shale, or sand between channels and shales. Fractal Brownian Motion is used to simulate 2D distribution of these three parameters in wells. Channel center lines are defined at first, then channel boundaries are considered. At the end of the paper, a case study is made in the area Sheng-84, with 100 wells, located in Liaohe Oil Field in China.
