ABSTRACT

Aspects of stress-elongation curves in the early region of stage I have been studied by use of the hard testing-machine of Instron type with a high sensitive recorder. Electron microscopic observations of slip lines and dislocation configurations after the tensile deformation were also carried out. Stress-elongation curves showed discontinuous flow, depending on the deformation temperature and solute concentration. From the TEM’s observations, it was concluded that the discontinuos flow observed shuld be responsible for an avalanche production of a large number of dislocations in a particular place of crystal surface and their simultaneous motion.
