ABSTRACT

The methods of gas-thermal application of coatings are widely used to strengthen and recondition machine elements. At present the industry produces a wide range of powders, and the standard equipment is designed to apply them by powdering. At the same time, in many cases a low strength of adhesion of a base-coating is a restrictive factor for enlarging the introduction of protective coatings. The presence of defects of the coating-base boundary and residual stresses are the main factors that affect adhesive strength. A knowledge of a real temperature field of a coating and a base during powdering is necessary to study an entire range of practical problems associated with structural changes, residual stresses, adhesive strength. Specific calculations of temperature and stress fields in a composite were made for different materials of a base and coatings. As base materials people choose titanium and steel and coatings were manufactured from rutile, aluminium and nickel.
