ABSTRACT
Interaction of a plasma arc with an external AC magnetic field is investigated theoretically and experimentally. The amplitude of the oscillating motion of the arc reduces with increase of the applied AC field frequency, but at a commercial AC frequency, the amount of the reduction is negligiblly small. In the multi-plasma arcs operation, the attractive force exerted to each arc can be cannceled by additional external currents.
