ABSTRACT

Project success is one of the most researched topics in project management because of the importance of understanding how to define success and what factors contribute to achieving it. A Project Management Methodologies (PMM) consists of phases and subphases, which will guide system developers in their choice of techniques that could be appropriate at each stage of the project and also help them plan, manage, control, and evaluate information systems projects. The first formal PMMs were set up by governance agencies to control project budget, plans, and project quality. A contingency approach to standardizing parts of a PMM was suggested by D. Milosevic and P. Patanakul, in which it made sense to standardize only parts of the PMM in an organization. PMMs comprise a number of heterogeneous elements that, when applied to a project, should have a positive impact on the project success.
