ABSTRACT
This entry covers the design, self-assembly, and inclusion properties of cavitand-based metallo-capsules (also called coordination cages). The thermodynamic control and reversibility of the cage self-assembly process have been exploited for the error-free generation of 3-D architectures on gold surfaces.
