ABSTRACT

The isometry algorithm to a complicated contour loop is one of the important and basic algorithms in the CAD/CAM system, whether the algorithm is perfect or not determines the basic performance of CAD/CAM system. This chapter presents a new isometry algorithm to the complicated contour loop. It aims to adopt the algorithm in our IE-CAM software and received a good effect. The algorithm is illustrated in detail by six sections: basic conceptions on shape CL engine; managing to deal with the isometry loop; dealing with self-intersection isometry loops; dealing with mutual-intersection of the isometry loops; the ending condition of the isometry operation; and the examination and prevention of chopping leakage.
