ABSTRACT

The generalized coupled thermoelasticity model of a disk based on the Lord-Shulman theory is presented in this paper. A transfinite element method using the Laplace transform is proposed to solve the coupled equations for an axisymmetrically loaded disk in the transformed domain. The dimensionless temperature and displacement in the transformed domain are inverted to obtain the actual physical quantities using the numerical inversion of the Laplace transform method. Results are compared for various orders of the elements.
