Upon completing this chapter, you should be able to accomplish the following:

View ethical challenges from the perspectives of mechanics, inspectors, and managers.

Describe key personal characteristics that enable a person to fight ethical violations.

Describe the transition of a person from being a mechanic to being a manager—the effect of change in goals on the nature of ethical challenges.

Give an example of how structured communication can be used to facilitate communication between managers and their mechanics and thereby effect safe, innovative solutions to technical as well as ethical challenges.
