ABSTRACT

The Beijing_ Shanghai express railway which will be built in the near future is an important railway. During the site investigation of Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge of this railway,the Hydro-Acoustic Exploration method [HAEM] was mainly employed. The HAEM which bases on the reflection principle of acoustic wave can explore the underwater geology and tectonics. The record profile directly reveals the undulation of the bed rock top. The land shallow seismic reflection method which makes use of the CSP processing program can directly process the data on site. The profiles of the two methods compose of the complete bed rock cross section of the bridge site. Based on the bridge site investigation example, the geophysical exploration, drilling method and their relationships are analyzed in this paper.
